Officials: At least 3 dead in wrong-way crash in Bastrop County
DPS Trooper Robbie Barrera said investigators believe an SUV was traveling westbound on the eastbound lane of U.S. 290 when it crashed head-on with a Ram 1500. The victims died on the scene, Barrera said.
Crash in Bastrop County kills three, including 7-year-old
Authorities said the driver in a SUV was driving west bound on Hwy. 290 in the east bound lane and collided head on with a truck. Both drivers were killed, as well as a seven-year-old child. Another child, 10, was involved in the crash and was transported to the hospital.

The man driving the pickup, who was heading to a Houston funeral, the woman driving the SUV and her son died at the scene, Barrera said. STAR Flight took the man’s wife and her two sons, ages 7 and 10, to University Medical Center Brackenridge in critical condition, she said.

The woman driving the SUV, Angelica Ortega, 30, of Hutto died along with her 2-year-old nephew. The father driving the pickup truck, James Alexander, 43, of Cedar Park also died in the crash.
4 Dead in Fatal Accident in Bastrop County
James died on the scene. His wife and two children were transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge and Dell Children's Medical Hospital, respectively.
DPS confirmed Saturday afternoon that 10-year-old Jackson Alexander died in the hospital.
