Two Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 Has Interstate Closed in Orange County

At approximately 1:15am, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a two vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near mile marker 875 in Orange County.  The crash involves a truck tractor semi-trailer and a passenger vehicle.

Hazmat crews are working to remove radiator fluid and diesel fuel from the roadway. There is still no exact time as to when the roadway will reopen to traffic.

Trooper Stephanie Davis says Jones was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox SUV westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near mile marker 875 at about 1:15 a.m. Monday. When the he realized he was traveling the wrong way on the Interstate, he attempted to make a u-turn but was struck by a Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer.

Jones attempted to make a U-turn in his Chevrolet Equinox when he was struck by the 18-wheeler, Davis said.
