Fatal Dump Truck Crash Closes Part of North Loop 820 in North Richland Hills.

Hurst police say a fatal crash involving a dump truck will have traffic tied up along northeast 820 through rush hour Friday.

Hurst police say a fatal crash involving a dump truck will have traffic tied up along northeast 820 through rush hour Friday.

According to the Assistant Chief of Police, the exit from eastbound North Loop 820 to the southbound lanes of East Loop 820 is expected to be closed until at least 6 p.m. after a fatal, rollover crash.

Police have released few details other than that it appears to be a single-vehicle, fatal crash that took place shortly after 2 p.m.

In the crash, the dump truck rolled over on its side and spilled a load of dirt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Drivers are urged to avoid the eastbound lanes of North Loop 820 until the crash is cleared. Motorists headed east along 820 are able to exit and use the access road to bypass the crash, but traffic is moving incredibly slow in the area.

Traffic backups from the eastbound lanes of North Loop 820 are slowing traffic in both directions on Interstate 35W north and south of 820.

Traffic coming from the east in the westbound lanes of state highways 121 and 183 is not impacted by the crash.
