Family wants justice for son killed in hit-and-run

But the owner of the truck, a 35-year-old Santa Fe resident, did not immediately surface. Santa Fe police impounded the vehicle, which had damage to the right front headlight and other areas that appeared to match the hit-and-run impact. Family and friends of the victim, however, have identified the person of interest on social media, which has led to threats against the man and his family. Because he has not been officially charged with the hit-and-run, Santa Fe police have not identified him publicly as their person of interest.

Santa Fe police have identified a person of interest in a deadly accident that killed a teen.Police arrested Michael Williams over the weekend on an outstanding warrant from Galveston County. That warrant was for an unrelated case.Williams has not been charged with the teen's death, as police investigate who was driving that truck.

Officials said that Santa Fe telecommunication officers, Santa Fe patrol officers and social media helped "identify and locate a vehicle with damage consistent with the scene and descriptions given by witnesses." Santa Fe police initially named Williams as a person of interest in the case, prior to his arrest Monday. A man has been arrested in connection with a hit and run accident that killed a teenager riding his bike. "They told me, 'Sorry to let you know your son was in a hit-and-run and was killed instantly,'" his mother, Amber Kinsey, said. His mother said she knew something was wrong when two police officers showed up at her door last Friday.
