Report of plane crash in Kendall County

“It appeared (he) was looking for a place to land,” Matjeka said. “There’s fairly good field in that area that he was trying to make, but his plane didn’t make it to the field.”
At around 2:30pm, witnesses claim they heard a "popping" sound come from an overhead plane, that then attempted to land in a field but failed and crash-landed into a ravine, causing the aircraft to combust. The pilot, Frederick Langston, suffered severe burns and had to be airlifted to San Antonio Military Medical Center. The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
