Six critically injured in crash after high-speed pursuit
Limon was joined by Deputy Andres Flores and met Encinal Police Officer William Butterfield at the scene of the crash near mile marker 61 to find that each of the Suburban’s occupants had been thrown from the vehicle when it had flipped several times and come to rest on the highway’s center median.
“We quickly learned that the driver of the Suburban had been endangering other motorists as well as his own passengers by driving extremely fast on the interstate, weaving between lanes and weaving between other traffic,” Limon said. “Eventually, the Suburban had apparently drifted out of the left-hand lane towards the center median, its tires had run into gravel and the vehicle had become airborne, rolling over and over until it was virtually destroyed.”
