Charlottesville Police Charge Suspected Woman in DUI Car Accident

Additional warrants for While DUI Cause Serious Bodily Injury (Va Code 18.2-51.4) and Driving After Forfeiture of License (Va Code 18.2-272) were obtained. Hallett was charged with Driving Under the Influence (Va Code 18.2-266) and a warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (Va Code 18.2-102,F) was obtained. Upon follow up, the investigating officer was informed that the driver of the Ford Focus sustained serious injuries from the crash. Charlottesville police have charged a suspected drunk driver in connection with a crash that seriously injured another driver. Police say Delena Hallett, 44, ran a stop sign on Elliot Avenue at South 1st Street and slammed her truck into a Ford Focus.
