Springfield-Holyoke, MAA man suspected of driving while drunk crossed into on-coming and crashed into a truck, killing his 3-year-old daughter and the other driver, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office said Sunday.
The crash occured about 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Hendrick Street in Easthampton, authorities said.
Mauricio Velasquez, 32, of Springfield, charged with motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence alcohol, and child endangerment, among other charges.
He was being held Sunday on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Northampton.

Albuquerque-Santa Fe, NMSan Juan County deputies responded to a traffic accident that occurred at about 6 a.m. Friday.
Authorities said a white pickup truck was traveling eastbound on U.S. 64 when it crossed the median and struck a black SUV traveling westbound.
The driver of the pickup, a 40-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to San Juan Regional Center.
The SUV had three occupants in it at the time of the accident.

Boise, IDA child has died and four more are injured after a dump truck and school bus crashed near Deer Flat and Happy Valley roads south of Nampa just before 8 a.m.
According to the Canyon County coroner, 11-year-old Daniel Robert Cook from Nampa died at the scene of the crash. The names and conditions of the remaining injured children have not yet been released.
Police say two of the four children were transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, while the remaining two more were taken to Saint Alphonsus in Nampa.

Birmingham, ALAuthorities on Friday identified a man killed in a head-on collision on Narrows Road near Alabama 79 in Pinson Thursday night.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man as Daniel Clayton King, 35, of Trussville. Authorities said King was driving east on Narrows Road around 7:16 p.m. when he crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Phoenix, AZA 3-year-old boy being pushed across the street in a stroller by his 10-year-old sister was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a pickup truck.
Phoenix police said Anthony Meade was in the stroller as the siblings, their mother and grandmother and another sibling were leaving a shopping area near 20th Street and Camelback Road about 7:30 p.m., said Phoenix police.
Police said the family was walking north across Camelback in the crosswalk when a 2009 Toyota Tundra pickup truck heading north on 20th Street turned left at Camelback to go west and ran over the stroller and the boy.

Salt Lake City, UTA car crash in Clinton on Wednesday killed a young girl and injured two drivers.
A red Pontiac Grand Am was traveling west on 1800 North at 1100 West, near Clinton Elementary School, when it crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a white Dodge Durango, said Clinton police.
A 3-year-old girl in the Grand Am died in the crash, Valentine said. Her father, who was driving, was injured and hospitalized, as was the woman driving the Durango, Valentine said.
Authorities were not releasing the girl’s name pending family notification.

Madison, WIFour people, including two children, died a traffic accident east of Janesville Saturday, when an 18-year-old driver failed to stop at a stop sign, according to the Rock County Sheriff's Department.
As the northbound 2009 Honda driven by Talia S. Enciso of Sharon entered the intersection without yielding the right away, it was struck by an eastbound truck. Enciso and her three passengers all died, the department said in a statement. The others killed in the wreck were Alvino Ortiz, 43, and two children, ages seven and 14.

Los Angeles, CATwo women and a 12-year-old girl died early Saturday when the minivan they were in hit a concrete wall and flipped, ejecting some of the van's occupants on a Southern California freeway.
Abigail Romero, 19; Abigail Estrella, 37; and Katie Davila, 12, from Lancaster, were killed in the crash reported after midnight on the Arroyo Seco (110) Parkway northbound connector to the Golden State (5) Freeway, Los Angeles County Coroner’s officials said.
Four other people -- two men and a boy and girl -- were critically injured in the crash.

St. Louis, MOFive adults and three children were injured in a head-on crash in north St. Louis Friday evening. St. Louis Fire officials said two of the children and four adults suffered serious injuries, but said none of the injuries appear life threatening. All of these involved were transported to the hospital. Authorities said the accident happened around 5 p.m. at North Broadway and Pitzman. Police have not said what caused the accident.

Tulsa, OKA 1-year-old Tahlequah girl died in an accident with a pickup on Thanksgiving, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
October French was taken to a hospital, where she died of head injuries, according to a patrol report.
How the girl died is still under investigation, but the patrol said the girl was not in a vehicle when she was struck about 6 p.m. in a private driveway just west of the Tahlequah city limits in Cherokee County.
Adrian Sanders, 18, of Tahlequah, was driving the pickup.
No one else was hurt.
