A Waynoka man died after his vehicle collided with a passing train Monday. Michael Linn Weber, 47, was killed about 5:05 p.m. Monday as he was driving south on County Road 480, a half mile east of County Road 470 in Woods County. He passed over railroad tracks at an unguarded crossing and was hit by an oncoming train that had 88 cars. Weber was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Five people have been injured, three seriously, in a rollover crash on I-95 near the Lantana Road exit, said a spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. Rescue crews responding to the 10:17 a.m. crash found that several people had been ejected from their vehicles. An initial report indicated that one person may had been ejected onto the Tri-Rail tracks, causing the rail service to be temporarily suspended. No one was found lying on the tracks, and a short time later Tri-Rail service was resumed.
The driver of an SUV who crashed into a pole in Seattle’s Rainier Valley Sunday night has been arrested on vehicular assault charges. The collision occurred at Rainier Avenue South and South Willow Street shortly after 9 p.m., where a SUV with a driver and three passengers had collided with a telephone pole at a high rate of speed. The driver, a 27-year-old man, had a broken leg. One passenger, who was ejected from the back seat, had serious injuries. Another passenger had minor injuries from the crash.
Two people were killed and three others were taken to the hospital after a horrific car crash in San Bernardino on Sunday. The accident happened in the 3500 block of Ridgeline Drive around 1 a.m., San Bernardino County Fire said. Three people were ejected from the car and two others were trapped inside after it went 150 yards down the side of a hill and ended up in a ravine, San Bernardino County Fire said. A man and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters found the other man who was ejected. He was immediately rescued and transported to the hospital.
Oregon State Police say four adults and two children were injured and State Highway 30 was temporarily closed about 10 miles east of Astoria after a head-on crash. Police say a westbound pickup driven by a 70-year-old woman crossed the centerline and collided with a car carrying three adults and two children late yesterday afternoon. The pickup driver was ejected and seriously injured. She was flown to a Portland hospital. Hastings says the car's 24-year-old male driver was also seriously hurt. The other two adults and the children received minor injuries.
