The Florida Highway Patrol arrested a driver in an overnight hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95 South. A driver hit a car at about 1:15 a.m. Monday on I-95, just north of Linton Boulevard in Delray Beach. FHP said no one was seriously hurt, but the truck connected to the crash was later found. The driver was arrested and charged with DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident. FHP has not released the name of the person facing charges.

One person was transported from the scene by Trauma Hawk helicopter after a crash in Royal Palm Beach on Thursday morning.

The wreck occurred at Okeechobee Boulevard and State Road 7 around 5:30 a.m.

Some lanes were closed earlier this morning but all were back open by 6:30 a.m.

A 79-year-old woman from suburban Delray Beach died in a three-car crash less than a mile from her home Thursday afternoon, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s officials report this morning.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. at Linton Boulevard and Las Verdes Way. Leona Goldsmith was a passenger in a Volkswagen headed west on Linton Boulevard when the driver of an eastbound Toyota attempted a left turn onto Las Verdes and failed to yield to the oncoming car Goldsmith was in, according to traffic homicide investigators.

A 27-year-old from Pompano Beach was seriously injured when he crashed his motorcycle Thursday night on State Road 7 west of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s officials report this morning.

The crash happened at 6:24 p.m. Investigators said Philip Hegarty was northbound on SR 7 and “not paying attention” to traffic stopped ahead of him and when he hit the brakes in panic, his motorcycle flipped throwing him to the road, where he slid toward the car ahead of him. The motorcycle then came down on top of him.

Hegerty was taken to Delray Medical Center for treatment.

A helicopter crashed at the North County Airport on Thursday afternoon, but no one was injured, according to officials. Firefighters were dispatched to the airport off Beeline Highway at 11600 Aviation Road about 1:45 p.m. The helicopter suffered a hard landing, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s spokeswoman. When rescue crews arrived, the helicopter was on its side and all of the occupants were out unharmed, said a Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman. The Fire Dept. did not have information about the type of helicopter or who was on board.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol release, a motorcyclist involved in a crash at the intersection of Indrio Road and Johnston Road in St. Lucie County, was taken to Lawnwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver of a Dodge pickup was traveling eastbound on Indrio Road attempting to turn left onto Johnston Road, stated the release.

One person was killed in a crash Monday morning in Vero Beach, according to local police.

Officials said the wreck occurred just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 60 & 82nd Avenue.

At 6:30 a.m., only one lane was open in the area.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Osvaldo Andarcio-Valdes didn’t stop when he allegedly caused a crash with injuries on Sunday afternoon in West Palm Beach, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The Palm Springs man also didn’t stop when he allegedly caused a second crash a few blocks away.

Andarcio-Valdes wasn’t done yet. While being questioned regarding the crashes, the 37-year-old man allegedly offered deputies $1,090 to “make this go way,” according to the affidavit.

A 20-year-old West Palm Beach man is facing criminal charges after police say he lost control of the car he was driving and crashed into a parked car, injuring his child who was in the front unrestrained. Amonzo Shelton was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Sunday and released under supervision Monday, jail records show. He faces charges of driving with a suspended license, reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, and child neglect. Riviera Beach police were called around 12:15 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of West First Street in response to a traffic crash.

A driver was taken to the hospital after his red Mercedes crashed along Village Boulevard early Friday morning.

Investigators said the man's vehicle went through a guardrail, over a canal and then about 50 more yards before landing on its top near Cumberland Drive.

The driver was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center in critical condition.

At 5:30 a.m., the northbound lanes of Village Boulevard were closed.
