Emergency crews pulled an injured driver from her SUV Friday night in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Philomath, deputies said.
Around 8 p.m., 60-year-old James Jones of Waldport was heading east on the highway, towing a tractor in his Chevy pickup truck, when for some reason, he crossed the center line and slammed head-on into 52-year-old Janice Hancock in her Honda CRV, said the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
Then, 60-year-old Maureen Lucas, who was driving behind Hancock, sideswiped Jones before all three vehicles came to rest.
A 34-year-old Redmond man was struck and killed by a semi-truck on Sunday while crossing U.S. 97 in Redmond, according to the Oregon State Police.
Paul David Donlan walked onto a stretch of the highway just north of Southeast Veterans Way around 9:14 p.m., police said. A southbound semi-truck driven by 37-year-old Jason M. Johnson of Moxee, Wash. swerved but struck the man with one of its trailers, police said.
Oregon State Police continues to investigate a fatal crash Sunday afternoon along Highway 20 east of Bend that killed one man and seriously injured another.
The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m., when a 1998 Dodge pickup driven by Matthew A. Dreyer, 35, of Star, Idaho, was negotiating a curve along westbound on Highway 20 near milepost 31. The truck traveled off the side of the highway and when Dreyer over-corrected, trying to bring it back under control, the pickup rolled repeatedly, said OSP Lieutenant Gregg Hastings.
A young driver and her teen passenger suffered critical injuries after the driver failed to negotiate a sweeping curve in the road near Sherwood.
The Washington County Sheriff’s office said today that the driver, 25-year-old Morgan McFarland, is hospitalized in critical condition. The condition of 17-year-old passenger Leah McFarland isn’t known. The women are from the Seattle area and are cousins.
The crash occurred about 6 p.m. Friday, when McFarland lost control of her Honda Civic and collided with a Dodge Durango. The driver of the Durango was not injured .
A passenger was killed and a driver had to be cut out after a vehicle hit a tree early Friday morning on Southwest Barbur Boulevard.
Rescue crews were dispatched about 3 a.m. to Barbur and Miles Street after reports of a crash. They found 28-year-old Dmitriy Maksimov dead in the car.
The driver, 29-year-old Audy Molina-Colindres, was trapped inside.
Authorities are investigating a crash that critically injured a pedestrian near Gearhart.
The Oregon State Police said the crash occurred Thursday afternoon on Highway 101. Authorities say 20-year-old Jake Edward Weil, of Warrenton, tried to cross the highway to a coffee stand when he was struck by a northbound vehicle.
Authorities say the 72-year-old driver tried to stop. She is now cooperating with the investigation, and the Oregon State Police says there is no evidence she was at fault.
Weil was taken by ambulance to a Portland hospital.
A 69-year old Milton-Freewater man trying to cross Oregon 11 died Monday night when he was struck by a pickup truck, Oregon State Police reported.
Juan Flores-Romero, of Milton-Freewater, died at the scene of the 6:50 p.m. incident, troopers said.
The driver, Miguel Cisneros, 31, of Milton-Freewater, was not injured, but was cited by troopers for driving with a suspended license and driving uninsured.
