The southbound lanes of Interstate 81, between exit 24 in Southampton Township and exit 20 in Greene Township, have reopened following an accident that claimed two lives and injured five at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, according to police and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

A Chambersburg woman died in a head-on collision along the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 this morning in Southampton Township, Franklin County, state police said. The victim was identified as Ashley D. Brechbiel, 26, no address given, according to police.

A 71-year-old Scranton man died Sunday morning in a crash on I-81 in Foster Township, Schuylkill County, state police at Frackville report. Garfield Beynon, 71, was a front seat passenger in a Ford Explorer driven by Jeffrey DelGuercio, 51, of Dickson City, Lackawanna County.
