Curtis Cooley, 47, struck an oncoming car Saturday eastbound on state Route 904 while he attempted to pass a bus in a no-passing zone. His 8-year-old son was in the back seat and was rushed into surgery to repair a tear in his intestines.

A 25-year-old Oak Harbor woman was southbound in a 2009 Jeep Wrangler when she crossed the center line, according to the memo. The Jeep struck a northbound 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. The Jeep's driver was taken to a local hospital.

The Washington State Patrol says just before 5:30 a.m., a 17-year-old Ephrata boy was driving a Dodge pick-up westbound on SR 28 when he drifted off the road to the right, then overcorrected into the eastbound lane, where he hit a Ford Aerostar van head-on.
