A man was killed Monday night in a paragliding accident on Maui.

It happened just after 6:30 p.m. on Haleakala Crater Road.

Fire crews say the 34-year-old man later identified as Paul MacDonald of Haiku, was dead when they arrived at the scene.

Maui firefighters are working to recover a woman's body after her car went off a cliff on Kahekili Highway and down about a hundred feet.

It happened in the Kahakuloa area which is the northern part of west Maui.

The call came in around 1:45 Saturday afternoon.
