Missouri is the 21st most extensive, and the 18th most populous of the fifty states. The state comprises 114 counties and the independent city of St. Louis.

Police have arrested a person of interest wanted in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Chesterfield on Feb. 12. Authorities say 54-year-old Yelena Pelts, of Chesterfield, was in custody Tuesday. The arrest comes nearly a week after 41-year-old Roy Joseph was struck while walking along Olive Blvd.
