Oregon State Police are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 82 near Hermiston early Friday involving a wrong-way driver. About 1:30 a.m., a Hermiston woman, later identified as Alicia G.
Justin D. Winters, 30, died when he ran into a tree on Saturday afternoon. Winters was taken to the hospital where he was announced dead. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
John Walters, 55, was killed Saturday night after his truck exited State Route 410 at about 10:00 p.m. northwest of Naches. Walters was eastbound in a Nissan pickup when his vehicle left the road and rolled over.
On Wednesday afternoon, Munoz-Mendez was driving west on McDonald Road when he did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Lateral A, and collided with a car driven by Estephanie Lopez-Pena, 19, who was driving north on that road.
At about 10:30am, Cuevas was driving west on I-82 when she for some reason left the roadway. This caused her to overcorrect, which in turn caused her vehicle to roll.
Kalman was driving an SUV eastbound on I-90 at about 5:20pm when he suddenly veered off the roadway and hit a guardrail, causing the vehicle to roll onto its side.
At about 12:50pm, a pickup truck driven by John C. Bates, 63, was stopped on Sunnyside-Mabton Road waiting to turn left onto Penn Avenue, with another pickup truck driven by Ramirez-Hernandez behind him.
Just after 8:00am, Boderick was driving east on I-82 when she slowed for traffic ahead, but another eastbound car driven by Michael K. Bermudez, 24, did not slow down and struck her vehicle.
Freezing fog overnight caused many accidents in the area of Yakima County, but only one collision on I-82 resulted in a fatality.
Nichole C. Garvin, 20, of Ellensburg, lost control of her car at about 7:35 p.m. 10 miles west of Vantage when her Ford Escort drifted on to the eastbound shoulder.
Juan Linares, 31, was driving east on I-90 in a car with Chavez, a 10-month-old boy, and an 11-year-old girl as passengers when he somehow lost control, departed the highway and struck the median before re-entering the road.
At about 1:15pm, Morgan was driving on I-82 when he fell asleep and crashed his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries, but has already been treated and released. He has been cited for negligent driving.
