A Spokane man died Sunday night after the car he was riding in on Saturday night hit a ditch along state Highway 211 west of Newport. David Pitts, 56, was a passenger in a car driven by Jeffrey H. Schoeny, 21, of Kapaa, Hawaii. Schoeny was headed south shortly after 8 p.m.

A semi hauling two fuel tankers overturned in Vancouver early Friday morning, spilling fuel into storm drains and into the yard of a nearby apartment complex. The truck crashed at around 1:30 a.m. on Northeast 18th Street at Northeast 119th Street, according the Vancouver Fire Department.
