Shreveport police are investigating a crash that sent two pedestrians to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Shreveport police were called to the 1600 block of Kings Highway after a reported vehicle crash involving two pedestrians. Janette Johnson, 55, had been struck and pinned beneath a vehicle traveling eastbound along the 1600 block of Kings Highway. Johnson, who was not responsive following the crash, was rushed to University Health Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.

Authorities are questioning several people to determine who was driving a car that struck and killed a 3-year-old San Mateo boy. Morgan Wallace Calaway died Tuesday night after he somehow escaped from a family member's home and wandered into the street. Florida Highway Patrol officials said he was struck by a white Honda. Authorities found the car a few miles away after the accident.

A Maddox Middle School eighth-grader died late Sunday night from injuries she sustained in an ATV crash earlier in the day. Gracie Abbott, 13, was airlifted to Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham after the accident, which happened near Old Glory Drive, just off Fall City Road. Abbott was driving the ATV but lost control and the vehicle flipped, throwing Abbott and two of her cousins from the vehicle, officials said. Abbott was airlifted to the hospital with a severe head injury, but efforts to revive her failed.

Two girls were taken to the hospital after they were injured Saturday evening in an ATV accident, police say. A 12-year-old, later identified as Stephanie Quinonez, and 16-year-old, later identified as Shiely Quinonez, were riding an ATV near 36th and Minnezona avenues, said Sgt. Steve Martos, spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department. The girls were trying to take a photo when the ATV they were riding on collided with a parked vehicle, Martos said.

Police in Pine Bluff say the suspected driver in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a teenager has been arrested. Police told reporters that 14-year-old Charles Jones was killed Friday night when he was struck while crossing U.S. 79 on the city's south side. Police say witnesses reported that the driver left the scene -- but a car matching the description of the one that struck Jones was later found and the suspected driver arrested early Saturday.

A five-year-old boy died after Louisville Metro Police say a hit-and-run driver drove his minivan onto the sidewalk and struck the child as he rode his scooter in a yard. Authorities say the child was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police arrested a suspect, Edward Pearce, age 24, on Skyline Drive, near his home, a short time later. Pearce is charged with murder, DUI, fleeing and evading, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.

Two children hit their heads when a school bus and a semi truck crashed near Marysville. The crash occurred on Highway 9 at 84th Street shortly after 9 a.m. Both an 8-year-old and a 6-year-old hit their heads during the crash and were transported to the hospital as a precaution, according to the Mukilteo School District. The Washington State Patrol said their injuries were minor. The driver was not hurt. The two children were the only passengers on the bus. WSP said the school bus was unable to stop in time and hit the semitruck from behind.

Extra psychologists are at William B Travis Academy in Uptown Dallas Wednesday where 13-year-old Ethan Vasquez attended school. Vasquez was killed Tuesday morning during a hit-and-run crash with a driver trying to elude police. The boy's mother, Sandy Vasquez, was critically injured in the crash and remains hospitalized. The school Vasquez attended is for academically gifted 4th through 8th graders who have some of the top STAAR test scores in the state.

A 9-year-old girl died Monday after being hit by a car outside of the Ruth Eriksson Elementary School in Canton. Canton police and firefighters responded to the accident around 8:30 a.m. at the school at 1275 N. Haggerty Road. Police believe the young girl might have attempted to regain entry into her vehicle and was subsequently struck as the vehicle pulled away. Canton paramedics transported the child to the University of Michigan Hospital, where she later died.

Warrensville Heights Police are investigating a hit-skip crash that left a 6-year-old in critical condition at University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies. According to a police report, officers were called out 4657 Walford Avenue around 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 after a child was struck by a car. Officers arrived on scene and along with the Warrensville Heights Fire Department and located Caylen Holloway, 6, along with his parents.
