Warrensville Heights Police are investigating a hit-skip crash that left a 6-year-old in critical condition at University Hospital’s Rainbow Babies. According to a police report, officers were called out 4657 Walford Avenue around 7:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 after a child was struck by a car. Officers arrived on scene and along with the Warrensville Heights Fire Department and located Caylen Holloway, 6, along with his parents.

The Iowa State Patrol has identified the teenager killed in Sunday’s fatal crash on Interstate 80 in Coralville. According to the state patrol’s minimal crash report, Sambatu A. Ibit, 19, of Des Moines, was a passenger in the 2003 Toyota Corolla that lost control, hit the south wall of the interstate and was rear ended by a truck. The crash happened a 2:06 p.m. at the 239 mile marker of the westbound lanes of Interstate 80. Ibit was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Mississippi authorities are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run accident resulted in the death of a Gordo man early Sunday. Mississippi Highway Patrol officers believe that Cason Park, 25, had experienced car trouble and was walking on the side of U.S. Highway 82 at when he was struck, said police. The driver left the scene, which happened at 4 a.m. in Oktibbeha County. Officers found a disabled Chevrolet Impala registered to one of Park's family members about a quarter mile west from the site of the accident, police said.

A Norwalk man riding a motorcycle on Interstate 95 just before midnight Sunday in Stamford was killed when he drove into a construction vehicle. Armando Barrera, 38, of 77 Benedict St., Norwalk, was killed instantly in the crash, according to State Police. Trooper Kelly Grant said Barrera struck a construction truck while riding his motorcycle at 11:50 p.m., was thrown off the bike and then struck by another vehicle. The incident occurred in the northbound lanes, just before exit 9.

The pilot killed in a helicopter crash at Reno Stead Airport was identified Monday as a 46-year-old man, Washoe County officials said. Michael Seeliger, 46, was flying the small helicopter that crashed Sunday afternoon, officials said. Seeliger, whose city of residence was not immediately known, was the only person on board the helicopter. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The privately owned single-seat, home-built aircraft known as a helicycle crashed at 12:10 p.m., officials have said. The crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.

A student at Goucher College has died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run. Matthew Gabriel was struck early Sunday morning and died Monday at Shock Trauma. Preliminary reports indicate the accident happened along Dulaney Valley Road in Towson. Baltimore County Police say it was a hit-and-run. The sophomore from Austin, Texas was a business management and economics double major and a member of the men’s lacrosse team. The school will hold walk-in counseling services until 7 p.m. Monday and again Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Gabriel’s organs were donated.

Officials say a 55-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday when he crashed his scooter. Police say around 8 p.m. Sunday, they got a call that 55-year-old Glenn Strunk had been in a one vehicle accident on US 231 just north of Spencer. According to a report, Strunk’s scooter left the roadway and crashed into a concrete drainage ditch. Strunk is hospitalized with a severe head injury. The accident is still under investigation.

In Jefferson County, one man was killed and two other people injured in a crash early Sunday in Jefferson County. Just before 2 a.m., Jefferson County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 7400 block of Bankhead Highway near Bagley. When they arrived on the scene, they found two men had been thrown from the car and the female driver was trapped inside, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian. The three were traveling in a 1998 Ford Mustang.

Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday a State Police Trooper was flagged down by a passing motorist who reported a vehicle off the roadway on Main Street in Newstead. The trooper found a vehicle that had crashed into a tree on the south shoulder of the road near Barnum Road. The driver, 49 year-old Mark Sperrazza, of Tonawanda, was found dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined pending the results of the ongoing investigation.

One person was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash involving a car and an SUV. It happened around 4:15 p.m. at M-37 and 13 Mile Road in Sparta. A white car was headed west on 13 Mile when it started to turn south onto M-37 and collided with an SUV that was northbound on M-37, police on the scene said.
