Cook was driving a truck that was pulling a dump truck trailer on I-82, when the trailer somehow came up and struck an overpass. The collision injured Cook, who was transported to the hospital. Police say that he will likely be cited for negligent driving.
Shortly before 11:00pm, Miguel-Chaves, who police say was under the influence of alcohol, was driving the wrong way in eastbound lanes of I-82, and collided with a Volvo semi-truck driven by Mihail Jecov, 55.
Rampey was a passenger on a eastbound motorcycle on I-82 driven by Keith Butler, 44, when the rear tire of the vehicle popped and caused Butler to crash into a guardrail. Both people were wearing helmets, though Butler was uninjured while Rampey was taken to the hospital for treatment.
At about 10:30am, Cuevas was driving west on I-82 when she for some reason left the roadway. This caused her to overcorrect, which in turn caused her vehicle to roll. She sustained injuries and was hospitalized after the accident, though the extent of these injuries is still not known.
Just after 8:00am, Boderick was driving east on I-82 when she slowed for traffic ahead, but another eastbound car driven by Michael K. Bermudez, 24, did not slow down and struck her vehicle.
Freezing fog overnight caused many accidents in the area of Yakima County, but only one collision on I-82 resulted in a fatality.
At about 1:15pm, Morgan was driving on I-82 when he fell asleep and crashed his vehicle. He was taken to the hospital for his injuries, but has already been treated and released. He has been cited for negligent driving.
The accident started at about 7:15am, when Jamilent Miranda, 26, was attempting to pass Guadarrama, who was driving a semi-truck, but ended up losing control of her vehicle and striking the semi-truck.
