One person was killed just after midnight Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 17, officials said.

A small passenger car and a large truck collided about 12:15 a.m. on southbound I-17 at Dixileta Road, according to the Department of Public Safety.

A woman in her 20s was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a road in Peoria on Wednesday evening, officials said. Peoria police say the woman was crossing Cactus Road near 73rd Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. when she was struck by a truck that was making a left turn into a driveway.

Police said the collision happened Friday night when 53-year-old Stephen Dolan Price tried to cross the street. Officers found him lying in the road with severe injuries.

A driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that critically injured two children in another vehicle last month in Chandler has pleaded not guilty in the case. Maricopa County prosecutors say 43-year-old Nathan Joseph Painter entered his plea Monday. His next scheduled court appearance is Jan. 14.
