Two pickup trucks collided at an intersection in Lehigh Acres. One of the pickups rolled over in the crash, trapping two elderly occupants inside until firefighters freed them. The other pickup slammed into a power pole, snapping the pole.
Cindy Lou Gutierrez was driving on Burnt Store Road just be fore 3 a.m. when her car traveled off the road and rolled over several times. Gutierrez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
At around 7:30 a.m., one vehicle ran a stop sign and collided into a second vehicle. Both drivers sustained serious injuries.
At 12:31 a.m. Monday, a church van was eastbound on State Road 78 when it passed through a stop sign, driving across U.S. Highway 27, and crashed into a partially-filled canal in Moore Haven, Glades County.

Gregory Piehl, 59, injured and mother Donna Piehl, 85, dies after plane crash in Fort Myers, Florida
A small engine piper-plane driven by Gregory Piehl went down in a Fort Myers parking lot, about a half mile short of the Page Field runway.
Roberto Lopez Jr. 10, of Tampa, died from injuries sustained on Sunday afternoon in Lee County, Florida. During the accident, a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer lost control and overturned on I-75 near the Alico Road exit near mile marker 127.
