A suspected DUI driver was arrested after crashing into an Orange County home and killing a resident who was in bed inside early Sunday, officials said. A man was killed when the vehicle struck the Mission Viejo home just before 4 a.m., according to the Orange County Fire Authority. The man was in bed when the vehicle struck the home. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival, officials said. Two people inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries, officials said. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, authorities said.
John Vausha, 62, was driving on Ind. 64 about 6:45 p.m. when a witness saw his vehicle leave the road. The vehicle traveled 500 feet before landing in a pond. Officials are unsure what caused Vausha to drive off the road. Crawford County firefighters pulled Vausha from his car, but the man was unresponsive. Vausha was flown to Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, where he was pronounced dead.
A 76-year-old Tampa woman died Saturday from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 75.
Gloria Jean Portis was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a backseat passenger in the 1999 Pontiac Grand AM driven by 20-year-old Kalen Darell Guest of Tampa.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Guest was heading north approaching the Fowler Ave. overpass when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway. The car traveled into the center median where the left side of the vehicle collided with the guardrail.
A local man died Saturday after the motorcycle he was driving crashed into a car.
Officials say Jerry Dunnichay hit a black car at Eighth Street and Scatterfield Road. The bike then skidding along the road.
Emergency crews performed CPR on Dunnichay and took him to St. John's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

A car hit a high pressure main when it crashed into a house Saturday, causing a gas leak in Darby, Delaware County, according to authorities.
This happened around 4:15 p.m. at the home located on the 400 block of Darby Terrace when a driver reportedly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake while parallel parking.
Crews were forced to evacuate the block while working on the gas leak caused when the car hit a high pressure main.
The gas leak is now contained and people are being allowed back in their homes.
A 27-year-old Brookfield man is dead after a car crash early Saturday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.
At 1:25 a.m., troopers and officers from the Brookfield Police Department responded to a report of a car crash on Rice Corner Cross Road and Lake Road in Brookfield, according to a statement.
Brookfield Fire Department and EMS responded and declared the driver, identified as Jonathan Bemis, dead. Bemis was the only occupant, and no other cars were involved.
