A Lancaster County teenager was hit by a truck while riding his bike in East Hempfield Township on Monday. Liam Bielawa, 17, suffered a broken neck, back, ribs and other injuries. Doctors say he has a long recovery ahead of him. The accident happened on a busy stretch of State Road in East Hempfield Township. Liam's family says the trucker who hit him did not stop and may not have known anyone was hit. "I'm sure he knows he was passing the bicycle but didn't realize that he hit something, that Liam ran into him," said Daniel Bielawa, Liam's father.

About 4:20 p.m. Monday, Scott Lee Marr, 38, from Laverne, was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a tree in Dewey County. Marr died at the scene from injuries to his head and internal trunk. The driver, a 16-year-old boy who was treated and released at a Seiling hospital, was going north on U.S. 270 at County Road 0700 when his vehicle went into a broadslide and hit a tree. The vehicle then overturned. Seat belts were worn by Marr and the driver, troopers said. The name of the driver has not been released.

A 6-year-old Lynden boy was killed in a one-car crash Monday afternoon on Highway 11 near Bow in Skagit County. Zachary Conzo was riding in a car, driven by his mother, which left the highway on a hairpin curve, overturned and landed on its top about 40 feet below in Oyster Creek. The mother, 35-year-old Kristin Conzo of Lynden, was critically injured and flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

A Bourbonnais, Ill., woman was killed and two other drivers were injured in a crash just before 6 a.m. Monday at 109th Avenue and Iowa Street. Jeanelle Fosaugh, 52, died at the scene from blunt force trauma caused by the crash, according to the Lake County coroner's office. Crown Point police received multiple 911 calls reporting a crash east of the Interstate 65 interchange at 5:44 a.m. Joseph Barrera Jr., 26, of Crown Point, was driving east on 109th when his car crossed the center line and hit a car driven by Fosaugh. Her car left the road and landed on its roof in an adjacent field.

A man was airlifted to the hospital Monday morning after he fell off an ATV and hit his head, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department. It happened just before 10 a.m. Monday in a cornfield near the 12000 block of M-40 in Bloomingdale Township, northwest of Paw Paw.

A 44-year-old woman suffered head injuries when the vehicle she was driving went off Saunders Settlement Road and rolled about 12:30 p.m. today. Marcy Barnett, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, was traveling west in the 4700 block of Saunders Settlement Road/Route 31 when she went off the road and hit a culvert pipe, causing her vehicle to overturn. Barnett told deputies she lost consciousness and deputies believe she may have fallen asleep or suffered some type of medical condition, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Department.

A tractor-trailer hit and killed a young woman on Interstate 70 who had gotten out of a vehicle after a crash early Monday morning in South Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County. State police said Siva Marie Stewart, 22, of Connellsville, was an occupant of a Jeep that was headed west in the eastbound lanes of the highway and collided head-on with a minivan at about 2:50 a.m. near the Smithton off-ramp (Exit 49).

Florida Highway Patrol troopers today made an arrest in a fatal hit and run crash that occurred Sunday morning along Orange Blossom Trail in Kissimmee.

Giselle Marie Saez Castellano, 27, 1902 Lighthouse Way, No. 104, Kissimmee, has been charged with felony leaving the scene of a crash involving death and was taken to Osceola County Jail, FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes said.

Kaitlyn Marie Winstel, 21, died following a fatal crash Sunday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Winstel was driving northbound in the 4200 block of Kernan Blvd. near Blue Stream Drive when she ran off the road, hit a curb and crashed into a concrete light pole.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue responded to the crash. Winstel was Life Flighted to UF Health Jacksonville where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators are awaiting test results to determine if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in this crash.

Bond was set at $125,000 Wednesday for a north suburban man charged with murder after his car rear-ended an SUV on the Edens Expressway early Sunday, causing a fatal accident.

In court Wednesday, the $125,000 bond was set for Jose L. Colon, 21, of Lincolnwood. He was driving a white, 2-passenger Audi that rear-ended a Chevrolet Tracker SUV on the southbound Edens near Touhy Avenue in Skokie about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to Illinois State Police.
