Darryl Arruda was driving on Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway woth a group of seven other bicycles when the motorcyclist in front of him braked suddenly at a traffic light. Arruda slammed into the bike, causing both bikes to overturn.

Mary Wuscher was driving on Waikalua Road when she side-swiped another car, then hit a telephone pole. The accident took place a bit before 4:30 p.m. in front of the Kaneohe police station. Wuscher was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
