San Juan County maintains a 72-hour holding facility in Friday Harbor. Commitments from the court system that exceed 48 hours are transferred to Island County Correctional Facility in Coupeville. All persons taken into custody on islands other San Juan are transferred to the Friday Harbor holding facility.

Two teenage boys were involved in a crash on Lakeway Drive in Bellingham. The two teens were fleeing a deputy's patrol car when they lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. They were tranported to a local hospital with injuries.
