Saturday, February 1, 2014A 19-year-old has been charged with felony hit and run following the death of a High Point firefighter who was riding a bike.
Fire Equipment Operator Todd Martinez was hit by a vehicle in Summerfield, investigators said. He died from his injuries at Moses Cone Hospital.
Andrew Bray Barham, 19, was charged with one count of felony hit and run, said the Guilford County District Attorney's Office. He's out on bail and is scheduled to appear in court March 6.
The state Highway Patrol is investigating the collision and plans to release more details to the media at 2 p.m. Monday.

Dallas-Ft. Worth, TXLancaster Police have arrested a suspect believed to be the driver in a deadly hit and run accident in Lancaster last weekend.
The incident occurred on Saturday Feb. 1 along the 2900 block of Danieldale Road just after 7 a.m. It’s there that police found 21-year-old Arin Thomas lying on the side of the road.
Based on debris left at the scene, police provided a tentative description of the vehicle on Tuesday.

Pittsburgh, PAA 21-year-old Gibsonia man was killed Saturday night in a crash on Middle Road Extension in West Deer Township, police said.
Trenton Hutton was driving when his car slammed into a guardrail and then hit a tree, police said.
An autopsy will be conducted Monday.

Madison, WIJoshua Kopp of McFarland was consuming alcohol on January 31st, 2014, before he crashed his pickup truck into a tree on Vilas Hope Road near County Road BB. The Dane County Sheriff's Office says that Kopp’s cellphone records indicate that Joseph W. Jobe of Cottage Grove supplied Kopp and other minors with alcohol the night of the crash, and Jobe was arrested on February 19th, 2015.

Atlanta, GAA Locust Grove High School student was killed as a result of an accident that happened due to inclement weather conditions. Authorities say the incident occurred on Coan Road, just east of Willow Creek Drive in McDonough when a pickup truck, driven by 17-year-old Nash Beever, struck a tree. The white Ford Ranger, which was also occupied by four other people, left the roadway around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Washington, DCA sophomore basketball player at Covenant Life School in Gaithersburg was killed Friday after a car that had been involved in a crash careened onto the sidewalk, then hit her and another young girl, police said. Teressa Rosalind French, 16, was only about a block from her school on Muncaster Mill Road when a Chrysler Sebring and a Honda Accord collided, sending the Sebring onto the sidewalk, police said. The car hit French and a 13-year-old, then crashed into a tree, police said.

Chicago, ILA man and five children were hurt in a single-vehicle crash Friday on the Far South Side.
A 2000 Ford Expedition was travelling west on 103rd Street about 9:50 a.m. when it turned right onto South Cottage Grove Avenue, lost control and hit a light pole, police said.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, and four girls–a 6-year-old, a 7-year-old and two 14-year-olds–were taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in good condition, police said.
A 3-year-old girl was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition, police said.

Washington, DCPolice say a possible drag race may have led to the death of a juvenile pedestrian in Rockville Friday afternoon.
Montgomery County police were called to the crash involving two cars and two pedestrians on Muncaster Mill Road between Shady Grove Road and Woodfield Road at approximately 3 p.m.
Both drivers were juvenile, police said. The two cars were traveling north on Muncaster Mill Road, which merged from two lanes into one lane, causing the collision. One of the cars went off the road and hit two of three juvenile pedestrians.

New Orleans, LAAn Avondale man was killed after he was ejected from his pick-up truck in a crash Friday morning (Jan. 24). Tyler Bourgeois, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at Highway 90 and West Tish Drive in Avondale, said a spokeswoman for the State Police.
Bourgeois was driving southbound on West Tish about 6:30 a.m. when investigators said he disregarded a stop sign and tried to cross the westbound lanes of Highway 90, Matey said.

Baltimore, MDAn icy road caused a driver in Perryville to crash into a CSX train early Thursday morning, the Cecil County Sheriff's Office reported.
The driver, later identified as Patti Pucci 18, was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore with unknown injuries after the crash, which was reported at 6:55 a.m. at the Jackson Station Road crossing just outside the town of Perryville, Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. Michael Holmes said.
The driver was in a Hyundai Sonata. No further details about the driver were immediately available.
