A head-on crash near Auburn sent three people, including a 4-year-old girl, to the hospital with critical injuries. A Ford Explorer and a minivan collided on Military Road South. The 4-year-old girl in the SUV and both people inside the minivan were taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The man driving the Ford Explorer was not injured.

Police in Upper Darby are searching for a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident Sunday evening that left a 69-year old man and his dog dead. The Upper Darby Police Superintendent says Richard Patterson was walking his pet poodle when they were both struck on Providence Road near Arbor Lea Road around 5:30pm: “Apparently he was either dragged, or thrown by the vehicle, at least 60 or 70 feet. He was dead on the scene, and the dog was also dead" said police. There are very few details available, and only one witness to the fatal accident.

Authorities say a Nassau County police officer was injured when he was struck by a car while attempting to arrest a robbery suspect in Queens. Police say four plainclothes Nassau County police officers approached the suspect at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday on Wexford Terrace in Queens. Police say the suspect, who was wanted for an armed robbery in Hicksville on Friday, tried to flee in his vehicle and struck one of the officers, pinning him against another car. Police say another officer fired his weapon, hitting the suspect once in the chest.

McDonald Borough police are investigating a single-car crash that left a driver dead. Officers were called out at about 10:38 a.m. today after a passing motorist saw a car in a creek near Plum Run Avenue and Langeloth Road, police said. The driver, Phillip S. Wolanski, was dead when police arrived. Mr. Wolanski was 43 and lived in Washington, Pa.

The southbound lanes of Interstate 81, between exit 24 in Southampton Township and exit 20 in Greene Township, have reopened following an accident that claimed two lives and injured five at 3:10 p.m. Sunday, according to police and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. A northbound vehicle crossed the median and struck a second vehicle traveling south, police said. The second vehicle was pushed into another southbound vehicle at mile marker 21.5, near exit 20 in Greene Township.

A woman was killed Saturday morning following a crash with a commercial vehicle in Osnaburg Township, Stark County.

The wreck happened around 8:20 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 44 and Orchardview Drive S.E., according to Ohio State Highway Troopers.

Troopers said Michael Sudano Jr., 57, of Niles, Ohio, was driving his commercial truck northbound on S.R. 44 when he turned left into the path of a Kia Rio car, which was traveling southbound on S.R. 44.

Two pedestrians are dead and two others injured after they were struck by a car in south Florida.

The crash happened Saturday at about 8 a.m. in Sebring, about 80 miles south of Orlando.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 54-year-old Gregory Tocci drove his 2002 Ford pickup onto the shoulder of a road where four pedestrians were walking. He struck the group with the front of his car, backed onto the roadway and then continued driving before crashing into a concrete pole.

A North Las Vegas man who died after losing control of his van Saturday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Juan Carlos Gil, 49, died when his 2001 Chevy Astro Van crashed into a concrete pillar by the Woodlawn Cemetery at 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North Saturday afternoon.

Las Vegas police said Gil may have been suffering from a medical condition prior to the incident, so he has not been listed yet as a traffic fatality.

The coroner’s office did not release the cause or manner of his death Sunday.

Interstate 24 on Saturday night became a chicken roast.

A truck carrying 48,000 lbs of chicken tenders crashed and caught on fire, according to a Tennessee Department of Transportation spokeswoman.

The crash, which occurred about 8:30 p.m. Saturday near mile marker 76 in Rutherford County, blocked the westbound lanes. By 1:30 p.m. today, the lanes were clear, Lambert reported.

Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department responded Saturday night to find the trailer fully engulfed in flames.

Authorities say an Oregon man died Saturday after crashing his mountain bike.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says 54-year-old Craig Steven Lyle of Central Point was found lying near his bike in the middle of a dirt road. A couple who was in the area told authorities they say Lyle pass them at a high rate of speed and later found him on the road nearby.

Investigators believe Lyle may have lost control of his bike or swerved to avoid an obstacle. Lyle was wearing a helmet and riding gear.
