A Utah Department of Public Safety spokesperson released the name of the victim involved in a fatal car accident on U.S. Highway 6 Friday night. Gregory D. Leavitt, 34, of Pleasant Grove died in a fiery collision with a semi-truck, after veering into oncoming traffic near Spanish Fork Canyon, according to a press release. The collision caused the semi-truck to jackknife and spill two trailers full of coal onto the highway. It also caused a brief fire in the cab of the semi-truck, injuring driver David Lee of Orem.

The search is on in Baltimore for the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian. Police say the driver hit an unidentified woman along Pulaski Highway and 62nd Street around 7:30 p.m. Friday. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene. Investigators are looking for a dark-colored pickup truck that has heavy front end damage.

The hunt is on for a driver who is wanted in a deadly hit-and-run accident. Detroit Police say a 56-year-old man was crossing the street at Van Dyke and 7 Mile Friday evening when he was hit. Investigators are looking for a Dodge - possibly a black charger with front-end damage.

Police say a man who was removing a deer from a western Pennsylvania road is dead after he was hit by another vehicle. The Westmoreland County coroner's office says 65-year-old James A. Armstrong of Unity Township was struck Friday night. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Cause and manner of death are to be determined following an autopsy scheduled for Saturday. State police in Greensburg are investigating.

The man who was struck and killed by an oncoming train while running after his dog near the train tracks Friday afternoon in Del Mar, Calif., has been identified as Louis "Lou" Terrell, a former mayor and city councilman.

San Diego County sheriff’s deputies say that around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Terrell was walking his unleashed dog on the bluffs near the train tracks in the 100-block of 11th Street when a northbound Amtrak train approached the area and sounded its horn.

A 94-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Kaimuki, according to Honolulu police. The incident happened at about 7:40 a.m. Friday on Waialae Avenue near 5th Avenue. According to police, the victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Officers closed Waialae Avenue near 5th Avenue while they continued their investigation. The area was reopened at about 10 a.m.

A woman and child were injured early Friday morning in a one-vehicle crash south of Oak Harbor. Both were taken to Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville. The driver, 48, is under investigation for vehicular assault. Troopers believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The Coupeville woman was driving a 2007 GMC pickup truck southbound on Zylstra Road at Hastie Lake Road when it crossed the centerline and struck a tree. Her passenger - a 9-year-old child is from Lake Stevens.

Emergency crews are at the scene of a fatal accident involving a school bus and a car on Route 366, just north of Marlboro Drive. The driver of a car died after hitting a bus full of students from Highlands High School on Route 366 in New Kensington, Westmoreland County. No students were injured. The New Kensington Police Chief said that the driver of the car crossed the center line and hit the school bus, which was full of students. The driver of the car died, police said. That person has not been identified yet.

Westbound I-96 near Telegraph in Redford has reopened after being shut down due to icy road conditions. Traffic was backed up for miles in the area. A number of accidents have been reported across metro Detroit because of the slick roads. Another vehicle flipped over into the ditch on M-5 near Middlebelt in Farmington Friday morning. Livonia Police also report several accidents along I-96 and I-275. Drivers are urged to take extra caution.

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that happened Friday morning on Montgomery Boulevard east of Carlisle Boulevard. Albuquerque police said a car hit and killed a 90-year-old man in the area around 7:30 a.m. The pedestrian did not cross at the crosswalk or use a traffic signal, according to police. Albuquerque police closed eastbound lanes of Montgomery Boulevard from Carlisle Boulevard to Jefferson Street. Police fully reopened Montgomery just before 11 a.m. The name of the pedestrian killed has not been released.
