Kenneth Jerger died instantly in the crash on University at 67th Street, according to MCSO. A passenger in his vehicle was hurt. Three people in the moving truck also suffered minor injuries. Sheriff's deputies said they found drug paraphernalia in Jerger's SUV, and that they believe drug use might have played a role.

A woman was flown to a York County trauma center, after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday on Route 11 in Chambersburg, state police said. The crash was reported at 5:28 p.m. at the intersection of Route 11/Molly Pitcher Highway and Loop Road in Franklin County, according to a state police news release. Relying on witness accounts, state police determined the crash was caused by a vehicle driving south on Route 11 that ran a red light and collided with another vehicle that entered the intersection on a green light from Loop Road.

Authorities said two dump truck drivers died in a head-on collision Wednesday morning near Mattawa in Grant County. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office asked drivers to avoid the area near Road O SW and Road 27 SW where the two trucks collided head-on and caught fire. Deputies said the truck driven by 53-year-old Bruce Patnode of Yakima crossed the center-line of Road O SW and crashed into the oncoming dump truck driven by 45-year-old Dale Peters of Selah. Both men were ejected from their trucks and died at the scene according to deputies.

Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run in west Baltimore on Tuesday that killed a woman and a toddler and injured a 7-year-old girl.

Baltimore police said late Wednesday night that they arrested 28-year-old Lucresha Mints in connection with the case.

Detectives said the intentional hit-and-run happened at Franklin and Monroe streets just after 9 p.m. Tuesday following an argument between Mints and 25-year-old Latoya Skipwith.

Authorities say a former Rochester police officer injured on the job as a rookie 13 years ago has died in a two-car collision while being rushed to a hospital.

Police in the suburban town of Greece tell local media that 43-year-old Felicia Gilchrist had a medical emergency late Tuesday night and was being driven to the hospital by her father when his car collided with another at an intersection.

She was later pronounced dead at Unity Hospital in Greece.

A teenage girl was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in western Nebraska.

Salena Cochrane, 17, of Gering was driving the vehicle when it went off a county road northeast of Mitchell around 7 p.m. Tuesday and rolled, according to Scotts Bluff County Attorney Doug Warner.

The girl was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Passenger Christopher Miller, 20, of rural Mitchell was taken to a Scottsbluff hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

An Elgin man fleeing from police was involved in a crash early Tuesday evening that killed the driver of another vehicle, police said.

According to police, the man who was fleeing had a long criminal record and was wanted by police on an Illinois Department of Correction warrant for fleeing and eluding.

An 11-year-old Baton Rouge girl was thrown from a car early Tuesday along La. 1 in Lafourche Parish and killed, Louisiana State Police reported.

The girl was riding in a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer that went off the road and rolled over after the driver lost control about 9 a.m., troopers said in a news release Tuesday.

The girl, who was not identified, was not wearing her seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office, troopers said.

It happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 4900 block of Dixie Highway near Lewiston Drive.

Police say 53-year-old Linus Kromenacker was driving a red and silver GMC truck when he crossed the center median, colliding with a blue pickup.

Kromenacker, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

The other driver was taken to University Hospital with what police described as "serious injuries."

A Union City motorist is facing vehicular homicide charges after a teen fell from his vehicle and died Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to an injured person call just after 1 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Flat Shoals Road, according to Union City police spokesman Chris Murphy.
