OU- Oklahoma University College of Law
Founded in 1909, the University of Oklahoma College of Law is one of the great public law schools in the nation with small sections and class sizes that encourage a strong sense of community, accomplished faculty who boast international expertise and a state-of-the-art facility featuring study rooms, court rooms and classrooms equipped with the latest technology. As Oklahoma's only public law school, OU Law is currently the academic home of approximately 500 students enrolled in the Juris Doctor, Master of Laws,Master of Legal Studies and various dual degree programs. The University of Oklahoma Law Center is the parent entity of the College of Law. The Law Center also includes the Donald E. Oklahoma Bar Association
The Oklahoma Bar Association was formed in 1904 by the merger of the Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory Bar Associations. After statehood in November 1907, the association was recognized by the Oklahoma Legislature until it repealed the enacting legislation in 1938. Thereafter, in 1939 the Oklahoma Supreme Court, exercising its plenary powers over the courts of the state of Oklahoma, reorganized the association and mandated that to practice law in Oklahoma all Oklahoma lawyers must be association members. The association celebrated its centennial in September 2004 and has a rich history of serving lawyers and the public. It offers a wide variety of community service programs designed to help Oklahomans.

Tue, 09/30/2014A woman died in a traffic accident this week in Washita County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. Angie Marie Lafleur, 49, of Sentinel, was driving a car northbound on State Highway 44 when the vehicle departed the roadway and hit a highway sign and an embankment.

Sat, 09/27/2014The ATV, being driven by Angela Russell, 33, of Chouteau, went off the road. The child, whose name was not released, was taken to a nearby hospital where she died.

Fri, 09/26/2014Authorities responded to a crash on I-40 about 14 miles east of Weatherford just before 8 p.m. Friday. Officials confirmed two people have died as a result of the crash involving a motorcycle and a semi.

Wed, 09/24/2014The OHP report states a 2002 Honda TRX 500 driven by James Votaw, 18, of Inola was eastbound when he lost control on a curve, went off the road throwing both him and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl off the ATV. The OHP report said Votaw was driving at an unsafe speed at the time of the crash.

Tue, 09/23/2014The bus was driving very slowly, and the boy's injuries were not serious, but he was transported by EMSA to a local hospital with leg injuries. The bus driver was not ticketed.

Tue, 09/23/2014A Wilson man died Tuesday in Carter County when an all-terrain vehicle he drove was struck by a tractor-trailer, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Cory Murfin, 28, was killed on U.S. 70 at Oak Creek Road just west of Lone Grove about 8:50 p.m., the patrol reports.

Sun, 09/21/2014Christopher Brown, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, and was taken to OU Medical Center where he died. A passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to OU Medical Center and was in fair condition.

Sat, 09/20/2014About 7:20 p.m. Saturday, a car and a pickup collided at State Highway 33 and Western Avenue in Logan County, killing Rebecca Vadder and Erube Rodriguez. The drivers of both vehicles and another passenger of pickup were taken to OU Medical Center to be treated.

Sat, 09/20/2014A 53-year-old motorcyclist was transported in critical condition on Saturday, after a crash in Tulsa County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol say the crash happened at 5 p.m., on Coyote Trail at the intersection of Campbell Creek Road. Vandygriff was transported with head and internal injuries.
