It was about 6:00 p.m. when Jose D. Cortes, 34, was driving west on Van Belle Road when he for some reason veered into the oncoming lane. There he collided with a tractor that was towing farm equipment, driven by Clifford R. Van Belle, 77, before crashing into a pickup truck driven by Blake A.

Thinh Nguyen, 24, of Lynnwood, was traveling westbound on Interstate 82 north of Yakima, when his vehicle exited the roadway, hit the guardrail, and rolled.

A press memo from the Washington State Patrol says a white 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer driven by 25-year-old Matthew J. Mirelez was eastbound on Van Belle Road approaching Brien Lane when Mirelez swerved to miss a dog in the roadway. The driver then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll.

It was about 11:20 a.m. when police were called regarding a man who had been robbed at at North First Street. He said he was giving another man a ride from a motel in that area to one at Fruitvale Boulevard when he was held at gunpoint and told to return to the first hotel.

Cook was driving a truck that was pulling a dump truck trailer on I-82, when the trailer somehow came up and struck an overpass. The collision injured Cook, who was transported to the hospital. Police say that he will likely be cited for negligent driving.

Katrina Cansler was driving east on Highway 12 when she lost control of her vehicle and drove off the road. The car was totaled. Cansler was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. Troopers say that drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash.
