Wise County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Terri Johnson was killed Saturday evening in a shattering wreck that killed three other people.
The accident happened around 6 p.m. about a quarter mile north of the crossover on U.S. 81/287 near NRS, just south of Decatur.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper William Cooper said Johnson was apparently going southbound in the northbound lane when she struck an SUV head on.
A 4-year-old child in the SUV was ejected. She was flown to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.

Police said a Shelby police officer was monitoring traffic on Dixon Boulevard just after 1:00 p.m. for speeding when a 2002 Buick Lesabre passed by the officer speeding.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said they arrested a man who caused a DUI accident that resulted in a fatality.

A 55-year-old Haverhill man was killed in a car crash overnight in Lawrence.
State Police say Carlos Cunha was driving a 2004 Buick Lesabre that rolled over on I-495 northbound around 1:55 a.m. The rolled over car came to a stop between the left and middle lanes before it was hit by a tractor trailer.
Officials say at some point, Cunha was thrown from the car and killed.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

A 22-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the South Valley this morning.
Kenneth Martinez, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Aaron Williamson.
The wreck happened just after 7 a.m. The black pickup truck was traveling south on Coors, south of Gun Club, when it left the road and hit power pole, the news release reads.
The driver of the vehicle, whose name hasn’t been released, was transported to University of New Mexico Hospital for her injuries.
A single vehicle crash with severe injuries occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. Saturday about of mile north of Lockhaven Road on Illinois Route 100, also known as the Great River Road, in Jersey County. A motorist driving a Chevrolet Corvette apparently lost control and rolled over on Illinois Route 100; no other details were known as to what caused the crash at 11 p.m. Saturday. The driver perished from injuries sustained in the crash.
