Saturday, March 1, 2014Authorities in southwestern Michigan say a 45-year-old man was killed when his snowmobile collided with a parked motor vehicle.
The Van Buren County sheriff’s department says the crash happened about 9:15 p.m. Saturday in Columbia Township. It’s about 25 miles northeast of Benton Harbor.
The sheriff identified the victim as Scott Friend of Decatur. The sheriff says deputies believe that Friend was riding along a road when he struck the back of a vehicle parked along the road.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLInvestigators with the St. Petersburg Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that fled a fatal hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:10 a.m. just north of the crosswalk at the intersection of 5th Ave. North and 4th St.
According to a SPPD report an unidentified man was walking east from the west side of 4th St. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The pedestrian was thrown onto the hood and into the windshield before he was ejected onto the pavement.

Saturday, March 1, 2014Burlington police are investigating a hit and run accident that happened early Sunday morning.
Police say at 12:46 a.m., Amy Taylor was walking on South Main Street. When she crossed the intersection at Sixth Street, police say she was hit by "an older model Honda Accord."
Taylor told police there were five people in the car.
She was treated by Alamance County EMS.
