A man was killed Friday morning after being hit by a truck at Forestdale Blvd. and Hedgewood Drive in Adamsville.

The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. The victim, a male, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Sherriff's deputies have the driver of the truck, later identified as Joseph Pool, 32, in custody, and are questioning him.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the sheriff's office.

A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after crashing into the back of a car on Interstate 64 Friday morning.

Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police said the crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 at the Twin Bridges.

A 2011 Chevy Cruz, driven by Steven Fowler, 50, of Virginia Beach made an unsafe lane change and was hit in the rear by a 2005 Harley Davidson.

A woman is killed while sitting on the passenger side of a car that slammed into the back of a tow truck in Florence on Friday morning.

Initial reports said the driver of a Nissan Altima may have been racing prior to crashing into a parked AAA tow truck at the intersection of Central and Florence avenues at about 2:30 a.m. Skid marks were found on the ground.

The woman passenger was pronounced dead at the scene and the female driver was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The tow truck driver was not injured.

Police in Anne Arundel County say two men in their early 20s were critically injured in a single car crash early Friday morning in Pasadena, Md.

Officers were called to the area of Catherine Avenue and Harlem Avenue at approximately 1:56 a.m. for the report of a vehicle crashing into a tree.

An 18-year-old was taken to the hospital after crashing during a brief high-speed chase early Friday morning.

Jordan Burchett of Thomasville was injured in the crash around 1:45 a.m. at the intersection of Guilford College Road and College Road in Jamestown.

Burchett was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Guilford County deputies said. Burchett had head injuries and was partially ejected from the vehicle, troopers said.

Nine people were taken to the hospital with injuries, many of them serious, after an SUV crash on a highway in the Bronx that may have been speed-related, officials say.

Rescuers were alerted to the one-car crash on Interstate 95 in Eastchester around 5:15 a.m. Friday, officials say.

A black SUV that apparently slammed into a barrier near an exit ramp at the crash site. Police say all the people inside the SUV were in their 20s and 30s, and emergency crews had to rip the doors off the vehicle to get them out.

A motorcyclist died Friday morning after running a red light and crashing into a tractor-trailer in Durham, according to the state Highway Patrol.

The motorcyclist's name will not be released until family is notified. The crash happened near Park and Davis drives shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Troopers say the 1994 Honda motorcycle was traveling north on Davis Drive when the rider ran a red light and crashed into the right side of a 2006 Sterling tractor-trailer that was turning left onto the Interstate 40 eastbound ramp.

A pedestrian, later identified as Joseph Lee Locke, 50, was struck and killed on I-5 northbound, by a truck driven by Albert McCormick Jr., 63, two miles north of Woodburn, according to Oregon State Police.

The Oregon Department of Transportation reported that all lanes were initially closed after the incident shortly at 5:50 a.m.. and the OSP reported the left lane was open about 6 a.m.

Traffic was backed up past the northbound Woodburn exit. Recommended detours were Highway 99E in Brooks or Woodburn north to Aurora on Boones Ferry Road, or Oregon 551 to Ehlen Road.

State police have identified a man who was killed in an early Friday morning rollover in the northbound lanes of Interstate 91 as 24-year-old Luis Cardona Rodriguez of Holyoke.

The single-car crash was reported shortly before 2 a.m. just before Exit 9B in the North End.

State police said their preliminary investigation shows that the 2002 Honda Accord, for reasons still under investigation, lost control, and at some point left the roadway on the right side and rolled over.

A man was pronounced dead after a crash involving a street sweeper in north St. Louis County early Friday morning.

According to police, Lamont Purley, 30, was driving a 2001 Ford Mustang on the on-ramp to southbound I-270 from St. Charles Rock Road around 12:30 a.m. when he lost control of the car in the rain. Police say Purley’s car hit a concrete median wall and a MoDOT street sweeper.

Purley was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the street sweeper was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
