A Beaverton woman and her two-year-old daughter had to be cut out of their car after veering into oncoming traffic and crashing along Highway 26 early Monday, police said.

Joy De’Ann Allen, 35, was driving a Toyota Corolla when she crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed into the left front corner of an oncoming Freightliner truck around 9 a.m., according to the Oregon State Police.

Allen and her daughter were taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for treatment. Police said Allen suffered serious injuries and the two-year-old had minor injuries.

Amherst Police say a two-vehicle crash on Eagle and Evans Streets sent an 81-year-old man to the hospital.

Police say 37-year-old S.A. Martinez was driving south on Evans Street around 1:17 p.m. Sunday. Martinez’s vehicle reportedly hit the driver’s side door of 81-year-old John B. Starkey’s car, as he was traveling east on Eagle Street. Both drivers are from Amherst.

Starkey was extracated from the vehicle and taken to Erie County Medical Center. He suffered broken ribs and internal injuries, and went into surgery when he arrived at the hospital.

A Billings man has been charged with drunken driving, after crashing his car into another vehicle Monday morning in the Billings Heights.

The call came in at 12:30 a.m., said the Billings Police Department.

Alexander Konecny, 28, was cited for DUI as well as possession of dangerous drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to police

The Buick Century he was driving collided with a Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by a 20-year-old man, police said. Two male passengers also were in the vehicle.

One person was killed when a tractor trailer and dump truck collided on northbound Interstate 95 near Perryville Monday morning, Maryland State Police said.

Traffic was snarled through the area for more than three hours following the accident, but the accident scene was finally cleared shortly after 3 p.m., according to live MDOT highway cameras.

A motorcyclist suffered what appears to be life-threatening injuries after colliding with a sport utility vehicle on West Overland Road just before noon today, according to Boise Police.

Officers on scene say the man was transported to the hospital.

The crash happened at 11:50 a.m. at Overland and South Biggs Street, just west of South Curtis Road.

Overland Road is down to one lane in each direction while police investigate.

A blue, smaller SUV has significant damage to the rear door on the passenger side of the vehicle.

A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition at a San Antonio, Tex., hospital after he was struck by an 18-wheeler and dragged along a road as he walked to school early Monday.

The junior at O'Connor High School in Helotes, suffered "significant injuries" and was in surgery at University Hospital at around noon, school and police officials said.

His name was not released.

Authorities said the boy was walking to school along Leslie Rd. at around 8:30 a.m. when a friend stopped and offered him a ride.

A Rainbow City man is dead after authorities say he drove his car north in the southbound lane of Interstate 59 early this morning.

The Etowah County Deputy Coroner said authorities received a call of a reckless driver on the interstate at 2:27 a.m. today, driving in the wrong direction. Then, at 2:51 a.m., a wreck occurred at the Pleasant Valley overpass near mile marker 178 on Interstate 59.

A Lancaster County teenager was hit by a truck while riding his bike in East Hempfield Township on Monday. Liam Bielawa, 17, suffered a broken neck, back, ribs and other injuries. Doctors say he has a long recovery ahead of him. The accident happened on a busy stretch of State Road in East Hempfield Township. Liam's family says the trucker who hit him did not stop and may not have known anyone was hit. "I'm sure he knows he was passing the bicycle but didn't realize that he hit something, that Liam ran into him," said Daniel Bielawa, Liam's father.

About 4:20 p.m. Monday, Scott Lee Marr, 38, from Laverne, was a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a tree in Dewey County. Marr died at the scene from injuries to his head and internal trunk. The driver, a 16-year-old boy who was treated and released at a Seiling hospital, was going north on U.S. 270 at County Road 0700 when his vehicle went into a broadslide and hit a tree. The vehicle then overturned. Seat belts were worn by Marr and the driver, troopers said. The name of the driver has not been released.

A 6-year-old Lynden boy was killed in a one-car crash Monday afternoon on Highway 11 near Bow in Skagit County. Zachary Conzo was riding in a car, driven by his mother, which left the highway on a hairpin curve, overturned and landed on its top about 40 feet below in Oyster Creek. The mother, 35-year-old Kristin Conzo of Lynden, was critically injured and flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
